Non-Caffeine Stimulation

I just started the early shift, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and I find myself getting sleepy at work quite often. I need something natural to keep me awake because coffee stimulates me but it also gives me urinary tract infections and I gave it up years ago. I know peppermint is a natural stimulant and I like peppermint candy but who needs the extra sugar? I decided to put a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil on a tissue and stick it in my purse.

Putting the peppermint oil on a tissue works just fine but you can also put it on a cotton ball and keep the cotton in a small container. I took my dropper top bottle of peppermint oil in my purse to let my co-workers try it on their own tissue. While I was demonstrating, I took a sniff from the bottle and accidentally touched the dropper top to my upper lip! That really woke me up – now that is stimulating but don’t do that because you should not put peppermint oil directly on your skin.
