The last two essential oils needed for your basic essential care stock are lemon and clove. As I said before, there are over 300 essential oils available, each with its own healing properties. It would be expensive to start off with all of them. If you want to start a basic essential care aromatherapy pharmacy, choose the oils we’ve been talking about these last two weeks because of their medicinal properties and their ability to deal with a wide number of ailments.

Lemon essential oil is good for sore throat, nervous conditions, blood pressure, digestive problems and it is antiseptic. It also has many other uses when blended with other essential oils including treatment of tension headaches and insect bites. Lemon provides a tonic action on the lymphatic system and a stimulating action on the digestive system. Not only does it have all those medicinal properties, it is also extremely useful as a flavoring and fragrancing ingredient.

Clove oil is antiseptic, antibacterial, analgesic and is good for the prevention of infection and disease. It can be incorporated in your cooking since it is a spice but it is also well known as a treatment for toothache, digestive problems and muscular aches and pains. Other uses for clove oil are nausea, flatulence, bronchitis, arthritis and diarrhea.
