bad odor

Don’t you hate it when you come home and discover you can still smell the food you cooked the night before? Or when you open his bedroom door, you can smell your teenage son’s sneakers? Most people simply spray air freshener to eliminate the odors but if you care about your family’s and your own health, you should read the label on those air fresheners. They are full of harsh chemicals. Do you really want your family to breath  that? A better solution for those smells is to use all natural essential oils. I’m going to show you the best essential oils and why you should use them.

Lemon Essential Oil

There is nothing better than the smell of fresh smelling  lemon essential oil to remove the stale odor. The reason it works so well is that it neutralizes bad smells. The citric acid in lemon oil is better than just about anything else and it’s especially good at eliminating food odors. Many people use lemon essential oil in the kitchen to remove bad odors coming from trash cans, dishwashers and garbage disposals. You can simply put a few drops directly into the area or you can use a diffuser in the kitchen.

Lavender Essential Oil

On your next wash day, put 4 to 6 drops of lavender essential oil into each load. Sometimes I leave my clothes in the machine for a couple of days and if have lavender in the load, I don’t get that musty odor because lavender’s anti-mold property eliminates it. The lavender will keep your clothes smelling fresh for days and using it on your bed linens will help you sleep better too because of lavender’s calming properties.
