ringworm

Ringworm is the term used to describe fungal infections of the skin. Athletes foot is a fungal infection and can be called ringworm too but today, I’m talking about ringworm or fungal infections on any other part of your skin but especially on the scalp. Ringworm on the scalp can cause temporary baldness and as a former elementary school principal, I saw the disease on many children. It is so contagious that we had to send children home when they had it, at least until they had been treated for the problem. The name ringworm comes from the ring shape that forms on the skin as the disease spreads in a circular shape.

The essential oils you can use to treat ringworm are tea tree, lavender, thyme or myrrh. Tea tree is very effective in treating this disease. Apply 1 drop of tea tree oil on the affected area 3 times a day until it is clear, probably around 10 days should do it. After that, make a blend of 30 drops of tea tree in 2 tablespoons of coconut or jojoba oil. Rub this oil on the affected area every day.
