The Number 1 Essential Oil

Lavender is the best essential oil to have in your home because it is extremely effective in treating burns, scalds and nervous tension. For burns and scalds, lavender can be put directly on the affected area right away. For nervous tension and headaches, rub the lavender on your temples, forehead, and the back of your neck. If it is a sinus headache you can rub it around the sinus cavities on your face. I suggest you add a half teaspooon of sweet almond oil to the lavender if you have never used it neat before. Try lavender neat a little bit at a time until you know if your skin can tolerate it or not.

Lavender’s properties of antiseptic, antibiotic, antidepressant, detoxifier and sedative allow healing to occur more quickly and prevent scarring. It also accelerates the immune system and speeds the healing process because it stimulates the wound’s cells to rejuvenate more quickly. The next time you burn yourself in the kitchen, put a drop or two of lavender on it two to four times a day until it is healed. The next time you have a headache, rub some lavender on your temples and the back of your neck. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
