Aromatherapy Shower Gel

showerWhen my family was young, we only had a bathtub with no shower and it caused a lot of stress at bedtime. Now that we have three showers (we only had one bathtub,) I can take a shower any time I want to. A morning shower with grapefruit and peppermint shower gel wakes me up and invigorates me for the day to come. After a workout, a shower with rosemary and peppermint shower gel soothes my stressed muscles. Taking a shower in the evening with lavender and chamomile shower gel relaxes me and gets me ready for a good night’s sleep.

You can make your own aromatherapy shower gel by adding the essential oils you want to use to unscented shower gel. Follow one of these recipes or make all three. Each recipe should be blended into 8 ounces of unscented shower gel and mixed well.

Morning blend:

  • 15 drops grapefruit:
  • 5 drops peppermint

Afternoon or after workout blend

Evening blend:
