Experimenting With Some Nice Moisturizers

It is really important for me to have some great-looking skin and having some great lotion is a must for me. This is the most basic part of my daily beauty and personal care routine. I like to put some lotion on all over my body in the mornings and at night as well so that my skin can heal while I am sleeping. I love using lotion all the time.

I have some lotion that I use at work and some that I use at home and it is fun for me to try out some new fragrances and some new scents all the time. There are some great lotions out there and I can always find something that works well for me. I love the way that a good lotion makes me feel as I put it on and feel my whole body getting refreshed.

With the right moisturizers, I can enjoy having the beautiful and soft skin that I want to have. I feel fresh and feminine after putting some great lotion on and it is a nice finishing touch to my morning routine after I have taken a nice hot shower. Finding some nice lotion is always exciting and I can’t wait to get some holiday scents for this winter.

Hangover Treatment

drinksNew Year’s Eve is the biggest party night of the year and many people plan to drink in 20157 Too much alcohol leads to dehydration and most of us have suffered the other yucky sensations like nausea, headache, and dizziness. I don’t drink anything stronger than sparkling cider or sparkling grape juice but I remember those sensations as if it was yesterday.

If you plan on drinking, you can take some preventive measures such as drinking a higher quality liquor, drinking plenty of water before you drink alcohol as this slows down the absorption rate and helps the body to cope better. You can also take at least 1000 mg of vitamin C before going to sleep. People always say to drink black coffee to help you sober up but that only makes things worse. Drink plenty of water after drinking alcohol too because that will help to flush the toxins out of your body. Unfortunately, you’ll feel tipsy again until you go to the bathroom a couple of times.

These morning-after essential oils will help return your body to its pre-alcohol state: juniper, sandalwood, grapefruit, lavender, carrot, fennel, rosemary, and lemon. Make your own blend from this list, using a total of 6-8 drops in a bath or 4 drops in an inhalation.

Yesterday we talked about treating cold sores with aromatherapy essential oils. Now let’s talk about preventing cold sores. When you feel that first tingle on your lip, treating it quickly can often cold soreprevent the cold sore from appearing at all. Unfortunately, it sometimes will appear anyway and it might even pop up in a completely different spot from where you felt the tingle.  I found a really good cold sore remedy that can prevent cold sores or speed the healing process if it does form.

To make your blend, use an amber glass bottle and high-quality essential oils.

Essential Oils for Cold Sore Relief

  • 1 oz  aloe vera gel
  • 30 drops sandalwood essential oil
  • 3 drops eucalyptus essential oil

When you feel a cold sore coming on, apply a dab of this blend directly to the tingling or warm area on your lips. Use it once an hour until the symptoms resolve. You can also use it hourly if you already have a cold sore to reduce the duration of the outbreak. The ingredients have analgesic properties, so it helps ease the pain too. I recommend making a fresh bottle of this blend every few weeks. Thanks to Andrea Butje and the Aromahead Blog for this information.

I really need to step up my game in the wintertime to ensure that I have the soft and smooth skin that I want to have. It is easy for my skin to get really dry and to start cracking in the wintertime, especially the skin on my hands. With all of the washing and drying my hands it gets tough on the skin and I need to have some great lotion to use.

With some nice body care like my lotion, I can enjoy having soft skin all year long whether it is windy and snowy or it is hot and sunny. I love using my lotion to have the amazing scent and to have the soft skin that I want to have. My skin has been so much healthier this winter thanks to the body care that I have been using.

The organic body care that I have been using like my body lotion has been helping me out a lot. I love that I no longer have to deal with dry and cracked skin in the wintertime. My body lotion is great to use regularly and to ensure that I have the beautiful skin that I want to have that I can feel happy showing.

People have been using grapefruit essential oil for centuries to help support both a healthy inflammation response and a healthy weight. It helps overcome sugar cravings and also hangover symptoms. It is a versatile essential oil with a clean, fresh scent and like the fruit itself it has a hint of bitter. It is often used in natural household cleansers and homemade body care and cosmetics like lotions, soaps and shampoos.

Seven Uses for Grapefruit Essential Oil

  1. Healthy weight management – add  2 drops to water, smoothies or a sparkling beverage.  When a craving strikes, massage the oil onto the chest and wrists.
  2. Food cravings – grapefruit oil has been proven to lower sugar cravings and help kick the sugar habit when inhaled.  Add a couple drops to a cotton ball with a little bit of coconut oil and rub it on your wrists, neck or chest. You can also inhale it directly from your bottle or using a nasal inhaler.
  3. Lymphatic health – grapefruit oil is a natural diuretic and lymphatic stimulant making it great for getting rid of excess water weight. It also rids the body of toxins and excess salt. Take 1 or 2 drops internally or massage it topically over the kidneys.
  4. Digestive health and detoxification – Use a homemade massage lotion with grapefruit and jojoba oil to rub over your stomach. This will increase blood to the digestive organs and help with detoxification. It also helps with digestion.
  5. Fungal balance – grapefruit essential oil is anti-fungal and can help keep a healthy yeast and bacteria balance in the body. Diffuse 5 drops or take 1-2 drops internally.
  6. Air freshener – Get rid of nasty odors by diffusing grapefruit oil together with other citrus oils like lemon, orange or bergamot. Use grapefruit oil on wooden surfaces, countertops, floors  or in your vacuum to stop bacteria in its tracks and to mask odor.
  7. Appearance of “cottage cheese” skin – grapefruit oil supports a healthy response to inflammation and increase blood flow and that may lessen the appearance of “cottage cheese” skin on certain parts of the body. Rub a blend of coconut oil and grapefruit oil onto those areas of concern daily.

Aromatherapy for Babies 3

There is a wide variation in the age when babies begin teething but whenever they start, teething may cause inflammation and soreness of the gums, runny nose, runny stool and often fever as well. It’s important to give the baby something to chew on at this time but do not give him anything he can choke on. Teething is often wrongly blamed for any and every symptom a baby can get so it is important to stay aware of your baby’s condition at this stage.

The essential oil formula for teething is chamomile – 6 drops or lavender – 5 drops diluted in 5 teaspoons sweet almond oil and mixed well. Then take 1 teaspoon of the oil mix and put it in a small container. Fill with ice-cold water and stir very well. Now you have two mixtures for a two-part treatment. First,  dip a cotton ball into the cold water and oil mixture and gently wipe around baby’s gums. Then using just the oil mix, massage around the outside of baby’s face along the jawline. You only need to use a couple of drops of the oil mix each time; just rub a little between your fingers before applying.

Sickness and Vomiting

Babies who are constantly being sick and vomiting may very well be allergic to cow’s milk so consult your doctor who may prescribe a soy milk product. If your baby is not allergic to cow’s milk but continues to throw up, they can be treated effectively with peppermint oil which calms the stomach and makes digestion easier. Put one drop on a cotton ball and place the cotton ball in the baby’s bed at the opposite end of the baby’s head.

If your baby keeps you awake all night, this remedy can be used every other night until he or she has learned to sleep through the night. When you put the baby to bed, put a bowl of boiling water beneath the bed on the floor not directly under the baby’s head. Add 1 drop chamomile and 1 drop of geranium oil to the boiling water. Keep the door to baby’s room almost closed (not all the way) to keep the aroma molecules in baby’s room. After a few alternate days of this treatment, your baby will start to conserve his energy and sleep during the night.
