Millions of Americans are affected by allergies and symptoms run the gamut from simple runny noses and sneezing to life threatening, leading to acute inflammation and shortness of breath. My husband suffers every spring and throughout the summer because he loves doing yard work (and our yard looks great) but every time he does yard work, he comes in sneezing and with a runny nose. We use essential oils as a safe and natural way to address his allergy symptoms and boost his immune system and so can you.

Below are the most effective oils to use for allergies as well as the reasons they work:

  • Eucalyptus: aids in clearing the lungs and sinuses which can improve circulation and reduce allergy symptoms.
  • Peppermint: unclogs sinuses and soothes scratchy throats. Acts as an expectorant and provides relief for allergies.
  • Ginger: contains anti-inflammatory properties that may improve symptoms of allergies.
  • Lemon: supports lymphatic drainage and rids the body of impurities.
