hangoverThe best remedy for a hangover is sleep and some extra rest and relaxation. If you can sleep late and take it easy the next day, here is a relaxing blend of essential oils that will help your body deal with what it went through the night before in the name of fun.

The TLC Hangover Cure

  • 5 drops fennel
  • 3 drops lavender
  • 5 drops sandalwood
  • 10 drops lemon

Blend these in an amber colored bottle to have ready for the next emergency. Use 8 drops in a bath, rub 2 neat drops around your liver area (the right side of the body near the diaphragm and stomach) and 2 neat drops on the back of your neck. Drink plenty of water with honey dissolved in it and also eat a spoonful of honey into which you’ve blended 2 drops of carrot oil.  Tomorrow, I’ll have one more blend for the days you have to go to work after that fun night out that resulted in a hangover.

breast-sizeWe are continuing yesterday’s blog with a couple of treatments to help you on your journey to increase and firm your breasts. For the first treatment, you will dilute 3 drops of cypress oil in 1 teaspoon of witch hazel. Add this to a bowl of cold water and splash the breasts alternately 10 times (at least) each. Alternate your splashes to allow for contraction and dilation. Then massage the breasts in circular movements with the formula below.


Apply this firming treatment every day after exercise.


Dilute these oils into 2 tablespoons of either grapeseed or almond carrier oil. If the ice-cup method is too cold for you, use cold water from the shower.

Bath Time

Do you always take a shower instead of running that bathwater? When our 4 children were growing up, we once lived in a house that only had one bathroom and there was no shower. It took a while for everyone to finish bath time and there was no time for lollygagging. Once we moved into a house that had a second bathroom in the master bedroom, I never took baths. A quick shower is wonderful but now that I don’t have to hurry up and get out of the bathroom, a nice luxurious aromatherapy bath is very relaxing. The next time you are stressed or start to feel like you’re coming down with a bug, try one of these bath blends.

Wake Up Bath I

  • 3 drops rosemary
  • 3 drops lemon
  • 2 drops eucalyptus

Wake Up Bath II

Refreshing Bath

  • 5 drops eucalyptus
  • 2 drops peppermint
  • 2 drops lavender

lavender picLavender essential oil is one of my favorites. Here are some ways to use lavender to improve your health naturally.

  1. Add 3 drops of lavender to your nightly bath water. The lavender and warm water will turn your bathroom into a spa and you will sleep like a baby.
  2. Add 15 drops of lavender to a spray bottle of water containing 1 teaspoon of unscented aloe vera gel and 2 tabs of Vitamin E. Keep this spray in the refrigerator and spray on sunburned or windburned skin.
  3. Add 3 to 4 drops of lavender to 1 ounce jojoba oil for a 100% organic skin moisturizer.
  4. Add 5 drops of lavender and 5 drops of frankincense to an inhaler and sniff when you’re in stressful situations for a calming effect.
  5. Add 20 drops of lavender to 4 ounces of bath salts to make aromatic gifts for family and friends.

The fragrance of certain essential oils will evoke memories of favorite Christmas’ past or start new memories for your family. These scents can be used any other time of the year too and will elicit the happy memories associated with Christmas and family. The Christmas essential oils are cinnamon, clove, bay, pine, cedar wood, mandarin, orange, tangerine, frankincense and myrrh.

Christmas Blend House Spray

Dilute this blend in 1 1/4 cups of water a plant spray bottle and always shake before spraying.


Lime Flavored Tilapia

Ever tried oven fried fish? I cook with essential oils and I’ve had some amazing results. I recently made this dish again and I thought I would share the recipe. At our house, we eat mostly chicken, turkey and fish rather than red meat so that’s mostly what I’ve been using to cook with essential oils. I’m going to give you a fish recipe that we really enjoy. If you have tried others, please let me know which essential oils you used so I can try it.

Oven Fried Lime Tilapia Fillets

  • Heat oven to 425 degrees
  • Mix 1 drop lime essential oil with 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Brush 4 tilapia fillets with 1 teaspoon of the lime/olive oil blend and set the rest aside
  • Sprinkle the fillets with Mrs. Dash, cayenne pepper, garlic powder and sea salt to taste
  • Sprinkle uncooked Cream-o-Wheat on top of the fillets
  • Cover your pan (I use a dark cookie sheet) with aluminum foil and spread the remaining lime/olive oil on the foil
  • Wipe the top of each fillet in the oil on the pan and then lay it on its back side – that way some of the seasonings and cream of wheat will also be on the back of your fillets
  • Cook for 7-10 minutes or until the fish flakes with a fork. Tilapia fillets can be thick or thin so gauge your cooking time according to the size of your fish
  • Serve right away with seasoned rice and salad
  • Bon appetit!

Body polishes are used to remove any dead skin cells that remain after using a washcloth or body brush in the shower or bath.  There are many sugar options for your use in this recipe. A high-quality body polish will contain an ingredient that will remove the remaining dead skin cells plus skin protecting ingredients that can protect the new skin that is revealed.

Sweet Body Polish Recipe

  • 9 oz sugar (brown or white)
  • 3 1/2 oz jojoba oil
  • 10 drops mandarin essential oil
  • 2 drops sweet orange essential oil
  • 5 drops geranium essential oil

My cousin was complaining about her son’s smelly shoes and stinky feet. She said he takes a shower every day but it doesn’t help so I told her about the wonders of tea tree oil. To rid your shoes of those awful smells you can put 20 drops of tea tree oil in a plant spray bottle with one cup of water. Shake well before you spray inside your shoes. Use the same spray on your feet when you get out of the shower. Let your shoes dry before you wear them and of course, dry your feet after the shower but you don’t need to spray so much on your feet that they get wet enough to dry them again.

If you don’t want to use the spray, there is another way to use essential oils to sweeten the smell of your shoes. Put 2 teaspoons  of bicarbonate of soda into a small container, an egg cup from your last dozen eggs will work great. Add two drops of lemon, lavender, rosemary or tea tree essential oil and mix it as well as you can, then sprinkle it into then shoes and leave it overnight. Tap the powder out in the morning and your shoes will smell as fresh as new.

Remove Mold Naturally 2

dirty shower curtainHave you ever seen mold on your shower curtain? It’s really gross. You can make your own natural cleaning products to get rid of that ugly mold. It’s easy to make, it’s effective and you will feel good using it. Use this anti-fungal cleaning spray recipe regularly. The recipe is from the book Essential Living: Aromatherapy Recipes for Health and Home.

Use this cleaning spray on your shower curtain and damp areas of the bath or shower to prevent mold and mildew. You can also use it on your patio furniture and screened in porches. Do not use it on your skin though. The recipe below makes one 16 oz spray bottle.

Anti-fungal Cleaning Spray


  • 15 oz water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 40 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 30 drops geranium essential oil
  • 40 drops palmarosa essential oil


  1. Fill a 16 oz spray bottle with 15 oz water.
  2. Add the vinegar and essential oils.
  3. Shake the bottle vigorously before using.


snoringPeople snore for different reasons such as mouth anatomy, alcohol consumption, sinus problems, cold and respiratory conditions and overweight. I have sleep apnea and must use a CPAP machine to sleep through the night. I add lavender or eucalyptus essential oil to my machine every night and I don’t snore anymore. If you snore and your doctor has ruled out sleep apnea, essential oils can help you sleep through the night, whether it’s your own snoring or your significant other’s.

Here is an essential oil blend to over come snoring. Combine the following essential oils in a 4 ounce fine mist spray bottle and remember to shake the bottle well before each use. Spray the room several times before going to sleep. If you are awakened during the night by the snorer, spray several more times to quiet the snoring.

  • 50 drops geranium
  • 50 drops lavender
  • 50 drops marjoram
  • 20 drops cedar wood
  • 15 drops eucalyptus
  • 15 drops sweet basil
  • 4 ounces distilled water
