essential oil synergyOccasionally, I will get a skin rash that flairs up for a while and then goes away. I usually just let it pass without treating it at all but right now, I have a rash that doesn’t seem to want to leave me. It could be eczema – I’ve had that before – but this rash doesn’t look the same. I’m going to treat it with lavender, chamomile and eucalyptus essential oils. I’ll tell you why I believe this treatment will help me while the expensive ointment that was prescribed by my doctor did not work.

First of all, the prescription could only be used for 7 to 10 days because using it longer than that can cause your skin to become thin  in the affected area. Lavender is a natural antibiotic, antiseptic, sedative and detoxifier. It promotes healing, prevents scarring and stimulates the cells of a wound to regenerate more quickly. Chamomile is anti-inflammatory as well as antibacterial, antiseptic and disinfectant. It also works wonders in rejuvenation treatments. Eucalyptus is best known for its use in the treatment of colds but it has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibiotic and deodorizing properties too. The synergistic blend of eucalyptus, lavender and chamomile, will help calm the itching from my rash and make the scars it’s leaving go away too. To make a synergistic blend with these three oils, mix 30 drops of each one in a carrier oil like coconut or liquid shea and shake well. I’ll let you know how they work on my rash in a few days.
