Aromatherapy Hand Scrub

Are you an artist who works with clay or a gardener who likes to get her hands dirty? Thanks to Andrea Butje at Aromahead, I have a great recipe for an aromatherapy hand scrub that will work wonders to get your grimy hands clean. Not only that, it will not dry out your hands if you use it often because the essential oils in the recipe will actually nourish your skin.

Hand Scrub

  • 1 1/2 oz pink Himalayan salt
  • 1 oz coconut oil
  • 1 oz jojoba oil
  • 25 drops lavender essential oil
  • 15 drops lemon essential oil

Directions

  • Combine the salt, coconut oil and jojoba in a 4 oz jar with a cover
  • Mix in essential oils

Use 1 tablespoon of the scrub to wash your hands. An abrasive brush can be very helpful when cleaning your fingernails!


Make Your Own Perfume

Essential oils are used by many cultures throughout the world for their healing properties. Some uses for the oils include increasing over-all well being and physical, emotional and mental health. Many essential oils can also stimulate the sex drive and work as powerful aphrodisiacs. So those looking to spice up their love lives this Valentine’s Day should consider filling their oil diffusers with one of the following essential oils:

~Ylang Ylang oil energizes the body and intensifies sexual desire.

~Rose oil aids in hormone balance. This oil works best for women, but is also said to boost sexuality in men.

~Jasmine oil is said to have a counter-effect on frigidity, impotence and premature ejaculation. It also boosts energy levels.

~Sandalwood oil is said to aid in the treatment of impotence and help to relieve the anxiety that leads to frigidity. It also produces something similar to androsterone, a male hormone secreted in the armpits as a sexual signal.


As I recently began to spend a bit of time working on finding the right kinds of items that I can use to make it so that I am able to take the best possible care of my skin, I was really excited to be able to find so many different kinds of items that would work wonderfully. Having a lot of different kinds of items that I could use on my skin just seemed so wonderful overall.

It was great to be able to find a lot of different kinds of items that would be able to make it so that I was able to really care for my skin. Finding all of the items that were natural skin care items was also extremely important to me overall. With the right kinds of skin care items, it would be easy for me to be able to keep my skin as healthy as possible.

Having natural items that I could use on my skin was something that was exceedingly important to me overall. It was so much easier to be able to find products that I could use to make it so that my skin is as healthy as possible by going online and looking at all of the natural products that were available.


great-skinOne of the things that has often been a big focus for me when it comes to making myself look nice is my skin. I have found that my skin is a part of my body that I can easily make look a lot nicer just by caring for it the right way. It is so easy for me to use great products to give my skin the nutrients and the vitamins that it needs so that it will be a lot healthier on the whole.

To do this, I use a lot of great products that can help me to keep my skin as healthy as possible. I mostly use some different kinds of products that are ones that are natural as these seem to affect my skin the best. Getting quality items like some natural facial scrub can also make it so that my skin is able to stay a whole lot healthier on the whole.

With so many great products, I am able to keep my skin looking absolutely beautiful all the time. It just has so much more radiance and feels smoother and softer thanks to the different products that I use on a regular basis. I am so happy to be able to have all of the right items that I need to use around my home.


Nail Therapy

To have beautiful healthy nails, you have to not only treat the nail but also the nail bed or cuticle. There are many physical conditions that appear in the nails as ridges or thickening. Arthritic and rheumatoid illnesses show up as thickened nails and they often also become distorted. Aromatherapists who do body work should keep their nails short and they must constantly attend to their nail length because the essential oils they work with cause nails to grow quickly.

The essential oils to use for making your nails grow are lemon, carrot, grapefruit, lavender, eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint and cypress. Choose jojoba, evening primrose, borage, almond, grapeseed or avocado oil as a carrier to dilute your essential oils.

Here is a wonderful synergistic blend you can use to strengthen your nails:

  • 2 teaspoons grapeseed oil
  • 5 drops jojoba oil
  • 3 drops carrot oil
  • 8 drops lemon
  • 2 drops rosemary

Make up the blend and store it in a dark colored bottle so it is ready to use. When you want to use it add 10 drops to 1 teaspoon avocado oil and blend it well. Massage this mixture well into your fingers and fingernails or your toes and toenails. Do this after you manicure your nails but do not add nail polish.

 


I recently had the doctor remove some moles from my neck and the whole procedure went well. He even gave me the moles in a little jar of formaldehyde. I know that sounds gross but my granddaughter used to play with them when they were on my neck so I wanted to show her where they went.

Dr. Ed burned the moles off with a little tool that he said is a disposable laser of some sort and I’ve had no problem in any of the 18 spots where he burned off moles, except for one. For some reason this spot has been irritated all along and it wasn’t even the biggest mole. I kept unconsciously rubbing it and I must have made it worse. Well, the point of this blog is to let you know that this eveninng, I put one drop of lavender and one drop of tea tree oil on a cotton swab and dabbed it on the spot. Voila, after one application, it is no longer itching or irritated.

If you don’t have any other essential oils, please get either one or both of these two. Lavender is a natural antibiotic, antiseptic, antidepressant, sedative and detoxifier. It is excellent in the treatment of burns and minor skin irritations. Tea tree is antiviral, antibacterial and antifungul so it can be used to treat all kinds of infections and a wide range of other conditions such as ringworm, sunburn, acne, athlete’s foot and toothache.


moisturizerDuring this time of the year, it is really difficult for me to be able to find the right kinds of items that I can use to make sure that I can keep my skin feeling great. The winter air dries my skin out terribly and makes it so that my skin is continuously uncomfortable. I feel a lot better when I am able to use something on my skin to make sure that my skin stays smooth and soft.

Over the years, I have had a lot of experience with trying many different kinds of lotions that I can use on my skin. It is not always easy to find the right kinds of items that I might be able to use to make sure that I am able to keep myself a lot more comfortable on the whole. Choosing some great moisturizer makes all of the difference in the world.

With the right kind of formula, I have been able to keep my skin nice and soft all of the time. It is so much better to have something like this that I can use all the time rather than having dry and cracking skin. By giving my skin the nutrients that it needs overall, I can stay much more comfortable.


I hope you tried at least one of the aromatherapy recipes in yesterday’s blog. If you did, I know you are ready to have a longer list to choose from so today, I’m giving you a few more recipes. Remember, these recipes are for your olfactory pleasure (they smell scrumptious) but as with any essential oils, they may also affect your mood in a pleasant way – some even sensually! Use the amounts suggested when you try out the recipe. If you really like it and want to make more for later, just double or triple the recipe. You can try out several recipes in one evening if you just use a diffuser made from non-porous material so that it can be wiped out after each use.
