As I have gotten older, I have started to hate the image that I see each time I look into a mirror more and more. It is very difficult for me to watch my face age and change before my eyes. I don’t like the way that my eyes have started to look more wrinkly and the way my face seems to sag. For this reason, I have begun to look for a variety of products that can help to tighten my skin.

It has been fairly easy for me to find a wide selection of products that are ones that are perfect for skin tightening and making these wrinkles just meld away. With a combination of natural skin creams and many other anti aging products, I have managed to make it so that I look so much younger on the whole. It is great to be able to see a new me whenever I look in the mirror.

Being able to make myself look young again is something that I am really happy about. It feels so much better to know that my face is starting to look so much more beautiful as a result of all of the great anti aging products that I have been using on a regular basis.

Yesterday I mentioned carpal tunnel syndrome in a blog discussing oregano essential oil. That started me thinking about my own carpal tunnel and I did a little digging for more remedies for carpal tunnel and I found a blend in Valerie Ann Worwood’s book, “The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy.”

Carpal tunnel is the compression of nerves or tendons in the wrist. It is usually found in people who use the wrists in the same way for long periods, like me – I’m at the computer at least 8 to 10 hours a day. To alleviate the problem, massage your wrists and fore arms twice a day with the 2-3 drops of the blend below diluted in a teaspoon of carrier oil.

organic oilsAs I began to look at some different types of oils that I might be able to use on my skin to keep my skin healthy, I took a lot of time to look at the various kinds of oils and to find the best kinds of oils that were ones that would work for me. It was spectacular to be able to choose a variety of oils that were ones that were perfect for me to use on a regular basis.

I found many great kinds of essential oils that could be mixed with carrier oils for the best possible treatment of my body. The scent of these oils was something that stayed with me all day and made it so that treating my body with this oil was even more rewarding. It has been great for me to be able to use a range of organic oils on my skin on a regular basis.

Being able to keep my skin looking its very best is something that I have devoted a great deal of time to. I have managed to find many different types of oils that are ones that can help to keep my skin smooth and soft all winter long.

Yesterday we talked about having a Halloween party using essential oils. and I know this is the day after Halloween but maybe you can use it for next year. If you have enough adult supervision at your party, candles will give a magical effect to your decorations. You can fragrance your candles with cedarwood, pine or vetiver to give off a deep and mysterious fragrance to the atmosphere.

Send your guests home with a Halloween party witches’ broom souvenir. Gather twigs for the brooms and soak them in water scented with a strong woody fragrance like pine or cypress. You can also use an earthy scent like vetiver. Let the twigs dry and then tie them into bundles. You can threaten to give them to only the good witches but when you actually pass them out, please give to all the guests, good and bad alike.

Children and adults both love Halloween parties – all those costumes and games bring lots of laughter and delight. You can make your guests, children and adults, special cakes and cookies. You can make those treats magical by flavoring your favorite cupcake recipe with a tiny amount of geranium or sandalwood essential oil.

Play your favorite games at the party but add a little bit of aromatherapy drama and flair. Get a piece of self lighting charcoal, the kind sold in specialty stores that stock incense, light it and put it in a heat resistant ash catcher. When the charcoal has started to burn and has a white ash on top, place 2-4 drops of essential oil on it. This will start to billow very fragrant smoke and will impress your Halloween guests. Use a heavy essential oil like patchouli or a woodsy scent like cedarwood. If any of your guests are afraid a real witch is coming, (because of your ghost stories) you can use frankincense to scare away the evil spirits.

Here are specific blends for levels one and three types of stress:

Yesterday we talked about the four levels of stress and I started giving you recipes for stresses in level two. Today I have recipes for stresses in levels one and three. You can use one of the following three blends  for general use. First, 15 drops of clary-sage, 10 drops of lemon and 5 drops of lavender. Second, 15 drops of marjoram, 10 drops of lemon and 5 drops of chamomile. Last, 17 drops of pettigraine, 8 drops of nutmeg and 5 drops of neroli.

I also have some formulas you can try for more specific uses. Remember you can use the blend in a diffuser or a spray bottle. If you can not use either of those methods on the job, put one or two drops on a tissue and sniff it occasionally during the day at work. Pampering yourself can be easy and affordable when you use what you already have to create luxurious and beneficial facial masks. Mix up a mask that meets your skin’s needs, and then plan on kicking back and relaxing. You might consider a cup of hot chamomile tea or a hot foot soak to go along with your at-home spa theme.

Dry Skin: Mash one banana and add five tablespoons of ground oats and a tablespoon of honey. Apply to damp skin and leave on for about twenty minutes. Rinse off with warm water, blot dry, and apply a good moisturizer.

Oily Skin: Mix one egg white, half a cucumber and one drop of a mixture of one drop lavender essential oil and one drop rosemary essential oil in a food processor or blender and then refrigerate for about twenty minutes. This mask can be left on for fifteen to twenty minutes. Rinse off with warm water, blot dry, and apply a good moisturizer.

Blemished Skin: Mix chopped tomato, a tablespoon of instant oatmeal and a teaspoon of lemon juice in a blender until mixed. Let mask stay on skin for ten to fifteen minutes. Rinse off with warm water, blot dry, and apply a good moisturizer.

Tired Skin: Mash five ripe strawberries, a few teaspoons of heavy whipping cream and a teaspoon of honey together an apply to face. Leave on for half an hour and rinse off with warm water, blot dry, and apply a good moisturizer.

Bath Time

Author: Dr. Larita

rubber duckDo you always take a shower instead of running that bathwater? When our 4 children were growing up, we once lived in a house that only had one bathroom and there was no shower. It took a while for everyone to finish bath time and there was no time for lollygagging. Once we moved into a house that had a second bathroom in the master bedroom, I never took baths. A quick shower is wonderful but now that I don’t have to hurry up and get out of the bathroom, a nice luxurious aromatherapy bath is very relaxing. The next time you are stressed or start to feel like you’re coming down with a bug, try one of these bath blends.

Wake Up Bath I
