Today we will look at three kinds of stress and the aromatherapy essential oils that are best to relieve them. Of course, nothing is cut and dried and one kind of stress can lead to another. The environmental stress you experience at work can lead to mental stress which, when you take it home with you,  can lead to emotional stress.

Environmental stress is caused by such things as fluorescent lights over your desk, machinery noise, constant phone calls, or too little space in which to work. Essential oils to treat environmental stress are cedarwood, coriander, geranium, cypress, chamomile, bergamot, and basil.

Chemical stress is caused by such things as too much coffee, too much alcohol, too much sugar, too many pharmaceuticals, smog and pollution. The best aromatherapy essential oils to treat chemical stress are lavender, patchouli, geranium, clary-sage, grapefruit, lemon and rosemary.

Physical stress is caused by pushing your body beyond its limits, for example, running in your fraternity’s “fun run,” working out at the gym, or continuously driving long distances.  Essential oils to treat physical stress are rosemary, chamomile, lavender, bergamot, thyme, marjoram, geranium or fennel.

Are you wondering how you can have a pleasant scent in your bedroom, sitting room or even in your office? Essential oils which are also healthy to your skin can be burned in the oil burner to release a sweet smelling fragrance into a room. The procedure involved is an easy and quick one;

Add ¾ of water into a copper bowl and place it on the oil burner;

Put drops of essential oil into the pot;

Place a lit tea candle under the pan in the oil burner; you can add more drops of the essential oil for more effect.

The water will evaporate leavingy our room smelling nice.

Do not leave the oil burner unattended.

The electric oil burner is an alternative method of burning essential oil. It doesn’t produce a bare frame as there’ll be no candle and it provides a stronger aroma compared to the silver oil burner. Electric oil diffuser is safer to use as there is no risk of getting burned or spilling the content in the bowl. However, it’s not okay to use in the bathroom, and it’s expensive. So go ahead and burn essential oil and relax in your room as you enjoy the great smell.
