We’re continuing our blog on natural skin care for the cold weather season. We want to help you keep your skin healthy and radiant with a few changes to your warm weather skin care.
Your normal exfoliating practice might be very effective during the warm months, but it could prove to be too much for the cold season. Frequent or vigorous scrubs and cleanses will expose your new young skin to the harsh, dry air of winter without enough protection. If your moisturizing routine is still leaving you dry after exfoliating, consider cutting back on your weekly scrubs and instead use a natural exfoliating soap that can be used daily.
The following oil works very well when used after the drying conditions of winter activities. It is a thick oil but is great in protecting your face when it is exposed to sunburn after skiing, sailing, or hiking.
- Chamomile – 10 drops
- Geranium – 10 drops
- Lavender – 10 drops
Diluted in - Jojoba oil – 1 teaspoon
- Evening primrose oil – 1 teaspoon
- Almond oil – 2 teaspoons
Blend these ingredients together well and gently massage into the skin every night before bed and also during the day as a sunscreen.
